Just the most fun nightmares ever!

"Can we?" Oh, that poor movie was never getting finished.

They'd watched the first part last time, maybe they'll catch the second half this time! It was almost like watching an entire movie!

"Of course we can," Steve murmured, pulling Tony's shirt off.

Oh, for sure!

Tony cupped Steve's face in his hands for another needy kiss. Like he never wanted to pull away from him.

"Shhhh," Steve soothed, resting his hands on Tony's hips and squeezing a little harder than he normally would. "I'm not going anywhere."

Tony sighed and relaxed a little at that pressure. Only a little since he was still wound up like a clock here.

"Our lives aren't safe, I know that. But I never wanted to be a source of that for you."

Steve nudged his nose against Tony's, running his fingers soothingly along Tony's skin to ground him. "I know. It was a mistake."

Tony kissed him again for that. "I don't want to lose you," he admitted quietly. Since it was safely in a place for just them.

Steve curled his arms around Tony protectively. "You haven't."

There were still things to talk through, but this reconnection felt more important.

Tony let out a little sigh and nodded at that. They had time to figure this out at least. And not just a countdown to an ending. "Are your ribs--"

"Well, don't kick me, but they're good enough for this," Steve promised.

Tony shot him a look that was both guilty and exasperated. "Okay. Okay."

Now he needed to be as gentle as possible.

Steve was looking forward to it. "That didn't mean stop," he teased softly.

Tony kissed him again, softer and sweeter than before, holding himself back a little bit. At least for a little while before the kiss deepened.

Steve hummed happily against Tony's mouth. "I love you."

"I love you too," Tony replied, running his fingers through Steve's hair.

Steve smiled softly. "Show me," he murmured.

Tony put his hands on Steve's shoulders, encouraging him to lay back without pushing. Not today. Maybe not for a little bit after then too.

Steve fell back against the back of the sofa, but still stayed relatively upright. Shifting too quickly was still not the best plan for him.

It was good enough to let Tony kiss a trail down Steve's neck to gently try to leave a mark there. Because he needed a reminder just as much as Steve did.

Steve sighed and threaded his fingers through Tony's hair, tugging a little harder than usual in reply. "Feels good."

Tony closed his eyes and leaned into that. Because he needed near That kind of grounding so much today. "You do too."

Steve pulled again, just a little tighter. "I'm right here."

Tony inhaled deeply, nipping gently at where Steve's shoulder just peaked out from under the collar of his shirt. "Thank god for that."

Steve shivered. "You'll have to help me get the shirt off," he said with a small smile.

"Can you lift your arms?" Tony asked, probably still sticking too close for this to be easy. Look, he was just being clingy here!
