Lab Beneath Stark Industries, Sunday Afternoon
The War Machine armor had taken a significant enough hit in a fight that Rhodey wasn't able to patch it up on his own. Which was annoying on a few levels for Tony. One, that Rhodey could have gotten hurt. Another that Tony should have been there to help him.
Tony made a face, rereading the assessment of the damage for a third time before starting to get some tools together.
"JARVIS, has the lab in East Village been touched?"
"No, sir. Shall I inform Lieutenant colonel Rhodes of your plan?"
Tony grinned up at the ceiling. "You know me so well, sweetheart. Tell him I'll be there within the hour. Help him shake any tails if you'd be so kind."
[Expecting one, but open before!]

"You are going to tell me who was behind the assassination and everything your little Widow has figured out," Madame Hydra said, leaning in to creepily run her fingernails down along the side of Stark's face.

He was also kind of distracted, gritting his teeth at getting someone's boot all up on him. "You mind stepping elsewhere, pal?"

Hey, either he got a concussion from that punch or he was pushing the Extremis again because his vision blurred for a moment. "You already know that. Just... let him go."
no subject
Okay, scared. That too, but he was channeling that into anger because he could handle that a whole lot better than he could being afraid for his life.
He kept his mouth shut right now, though. Instead, he was trying to see if there was anything in this situation he could exploit in his favor. Anything at all.
no subject
"And that's all you've worked out?" Madame Hydra snapped, forgoing the gentle bad-touch for a fistful of Stark's hair.

Hey, he could feel the faint hum of the electrical lines down here. That was... new and possibly something to worry about later. For now, instead, he focused until he could feel himself get a bloody nose and the lines were suddenly sparking like an explosion before everything went black in the tunnel.

He wasn't very interested in staying where he was when the lights went out. So he went immediately with his gut instinct - which was to try and roll to the side, out of Death Adder's grip, trying to use the element of surprise to his advantage.
He needed to get the restraints off. That would be his concern number two.

Tony wobbled for a moment before half stumbling into and half shoulder checking Death Adder to help. His plans were perfect if not for human error. "C'mon, move," he muttered, groping blindly for Barnes.
Because the Serpent Society? They did not sound pleased by this.

"Don't let them escape!" Madame Hydra snapped.

He scrambled to his feet. There was a whole lot of fumbling involved.

And he was probably doing better than Tony at the balance thing right now. "This way," Tony said quietly, pushing who he assumed was Barnes in the opposite direction of the snakey fun.
They didn't have scales, so he felt good about his choice.
no subject
"What the hell is going on?" he hissed, still trying to break whatever was holding his arms back. Because that was really getting on his nerves.
no subject
He... really needed to have Reed test him again. When this was less pressing.
no subject
Possibly because he was listening to whether they were about to get caught again. But possibly because this was a lot to deal with.

Tony pulled his arm, flashing through blueprints of the sewer system to find the nearest service hatch. "There's a lot," he warned, sounding distracted as he moved on autopilot.
no subject
"Yeah, I figured that from the lizard people, pal."
no subject
Tony huffed out a laugh, reaching out for what should be a ladder unless there were budgetary cutbacks. "Evil group of snake people who are lead by a Nazi?" he offered, tugging on Barnes' shirt. "Up here."
no subject
"That makes no sense."
He sounded offended. Kind of. Mostly huffy.

This was on a whole different level, though.
He focused on climbing.
no subject
"I'm sorry," Tony said. "My life seems to just keep getting more dangerous."
On the plus side, they were almost out of the sewer?
no subject
"Well, looks like we're getting out, at least."
